Sony Ericsson’s new Aino media phone
Sony Ericsson has announced the Aino, a mobile phone that has a touchscreen and a slide-out phone keypad. The touchscreen is used for controlling the media playback functions, with this interface being compared to the (XMB) controls on the Playstation 3.
The Aino comes with a WiFi dock which will help you synchronise data between your PC and your phone wirelessly. However, the Aino also comes with built-in WiFi for internet access.
A stereo Bluetooth headset is included with the Aino for listening to music and making calls.
The Aino also comes with a streaming media program so you can enjoy media program so you can enjoy music and videos without having to copy them to the phone’s memory card. But your phone has to be connected to the internet over WiFi, rather than 3G, and you need to have a PS3 connected to your network at home. You can even watch live TV on your phone if you have Sony’s Play TV Freeview tuner connected to your PS3.
All in all the Sony-Ericsson Aino looks to be a good piece of technology, with good quality streamed video, the phone and console were proved that the WiFi network loading times were quick. The Sony Ericsson Aino phone will be available in the autumn, with prices still to be announced by Sony-Ericsson.
